Learn to dive and non-diversCan I travel with my diving partner? All Scuba Travel trips can be adapted for the non-diver, but not all are appropriate if the non-diver wants to learn to dive. For instance, liveaboards in the Red Sea require that all customers are certified divers and have a minimum number of logged dives. Can I learn to dive while I am on vacation? If learning to dive is what you are after, then we suggest that a shore based package is more appropriate for you. The following is information in order to help you get started in your new underwater adventure. Open Water Diver is an entry-level course in PADI’s educational system and is a course for learning to explore the underwater world. You will begin by combining dive theory with pool training of dive techniques. You will later broaden your experience with training dives in the ocean either in your home country or during the start of your vacation. Upon completion of the course, you will be able to dive, rent equipment and take continuing courses throughout the world. Contact us for more information about learning to dive. Will I need to spend all my time in a classroom studying? Through what is known as a “referral program”, you can complete all of the theory and pool training in your home country prior to departure with one of our partners here in Scandinavia. This eliminates the majority of the classroom and study time that you will have to spend while the sun is shining and the beach is calling! After your vacation is over, your local dive centre will take care of you again to help you with diving in your home environment. Requirements: Minimum age of 15, ability to swim 200 m. Please note: A junior certificate can be issued to those that are 10 – 14 years of age. Due to the fact that not all 10 year olds have either the physical or mental maturity that is required for diving, we highly recommend that the child waits until 12 years of age before learning to dive.
